ST CLAIR YOUTH PRECINCT
Complimenting a surrounding recreation development, The St Clair Youth Precinct in Adelaide forms a vibrant centrepiece that responds to the need for alternative active recreation designed and built to be tailored towards young people.
Nestled between two significant buildings the skate park is closely bordered by both heritage listed and contemporary architecture. A strict colour palette was influenced by the built form that celebrates and enhances the two contrasting architectural landmarks. Built adjacent to the grounds of the former Cheltenham Racecourse the design language celebrates the energy, action, and speed of the once much-loved entertainment spectacle.
Consisting of an enclosed bowl and open street plaza, the 1200m2 skate park layout offers contemporary skate features unique to the region as a direct response to the engagement of the local community.
