Convic is honoured to have received the prestigious National AILA Award in the Urban Design Category for our South Eveleigh Youth Space. The Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) Awards showcases the positive impact landscape architecture has on Australian lives through the built and natural environments.

Judges said “The South Eveleigh Youth Space celebrates younger people using the space for recreation and for actively embracing the previous industrial uses associated with the Eveleigh Railway Workshops. The space does not fit the typical typology of a skate park or action sports zone.”

The idea of a skatepark is always evolving to grow and compliment skate trends and the spaces they occupy and we thank our client Mirvac and the City of Sydney for being open to new ideas of what a Youth Space can be in a mixed use Commercial/Retail  development, as well as valuable input from the Sydney Skateboard Association and community members.
