RATHMINES YOUTH HUB
The Rathmines Youth Hub is located within the iconic heritage listed RAAF flying boat base that was established on the site in 1939 and was the biggest of its kind in the southern hemisphere during World War II. The design responds to the cultural management plan for the site and provides a space that is sympathetic to key site lines to heritage listed buildings and offers theming that forms connections to the past use of the site.
With the design and construction complete the Youth Hub is set to revitalise the Rathmines Park precinct with a destination level recreation space including a 1000sqm skate park, pump track and basketball court, events and a passive recreation areas, parking areas, and landscape integration within the broader open space.
