ONEHUNGA BAY RESERVE FLOW BOWL
Situated between Māngere Mountain and Mount Eden, the simple spherical form of the skate bowl and its radiating terraces pay homage to the many Maunga (dormant volcanic cones) that define the Auckland Isthmus landscape.
The facility is located adjacent to the iconic Onehunga Vert Ramp, the only active vert ramp in the Auckland region that continues to host regular training sessions and events. Following many years of planning and several design iterations, the bowl has been a highly anticipated addition to Auckland’s skateboarding infrastructure.
Designed with a strong emphasis on intermediate to advanced skill development, the bowl provides a dedicated space for progression, training, and high-performance active users. An expansive surrounding platform incorporates simple street skating elements, creating a multifunctional area where users can practice while waiting to access the bowl.
Since opening in June 2026, the facility has been used extensively and has quickly established itself as an important training venue for Auckland athletes preparing to compete at the National Championships in Tauranga.
