Mayor’s Award winner St Kilda Skate Park showcased in Video Clip

The St Kilda Skate Park designed and constructed by Convic was recently honoured with the City of Port Phillip’s Design and Development Mayor’s Award.

Now in their 12th year, the awards celebrate design excellence in architecture, urban design, heritage, sustainable development and urban art throughout the municipality and are well respected in the design industry.

This video created by Traces Films and the City of Port Phillip gives insight into the design process and inspiration for the facility from Convic Managing Director, Simon Oxenham. Also hear City of Port Phillip Mayor Amanda Stevens and Deputy Mayor Serge Thomann explain why this facility was chosen for this prestigious award and why the space is so unique – from the aesthetic beauty of the colours of the concrete and shapes of the bowl, to how it brings together a community. It’s become an internationally recognised activated space that has something for everyone to engage with.
