The AILA Landscape Architecture Awards program The Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) Awards showcases the positive impact landscape architecture has on Australian lives through the built and natural environments.

The Award Citation says: “Prahran Skate Park is an exemplary urban design intervention and a dynamic, hybrid civic space. It places skate culture at the centre of a wider social and cultural urban transformation. Reimagining a neglected site, the space successfully merges sport, culture and community to enhance the vibrancy of Prahran’s public realm.

This innovative and flexible space, with sophisticated materiality and beautiful detail, delivers a challenging, dynamic and welcoming place full of spectacle and event. Much more than a skatepark, the design has created a new focal point for recreation and social interaction.”
