The President of the AILA bestows this award for special contributions to landscape architecture and the built environment. Caroline Springs Youth Activity Space took the 2007 gong for creating active and passive recreation spaces. The adaptable design caters to a range of community interests: the court transforms into event seating; seating clusters become an outdoor classroom; the stage becomes a skate element.
