Cairns Esplanade Skate Park

Celebrating exceptional urban concrete design and construction, in 2007 the biennial CCAA Public Domain Awards awarded the Cairns Esplanade Skate Park with the Paths Commendation and Best Queensland Project. The jury called the integrated, multipurpose landscape of Australia’s then largest skate park “a stimulating example of how the mass and dynamic forms of a skate park need be not only exciting in themselves, but just as importantly, integrated well with their broader parkland settings.”
