DIDAALAMAAP IN MANDURAH WINS 2 AILA AWARDS
We are delighted to announce that the Didaalamaap – Western Foreshore Precinct and City of Mandurah we worked on has been honored with the 2024 Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) WA Landscape Architecture Award for Parks and Open Space, along with the prestigious WA Medal.
The judges characterized the project as follows:
‘Didaalamaap is a unique foreshore precinct bringing increased visitation, investment, and significant economic benefit while honoring the existing place values and recognizing the deep history of the site as a place to meet, recreate and connect with the water. The skate park links into the national competitive skating circuit and provides skating opportunities for the less experienced. In doing so, it forges important connections within the community beyond Mandurah.’
The skate park represents one facet of this expansive collaborative initiative undertaken with the City of Mandurah, PLAN E Landscape Architects, and other contributing consultants.
And a big thank you to the dedicated members of the Mandurah community whose active participation during the consultation process was instrumental in shaping this design.
