SINGAPORE NATIONAL EXTREME SPORT PARK

EAST COAST PARK, SINGAPORE

This major urban space includes a restaurant, retail, shelters, management centre, landscaped skateable terraces and a 3,200m2 skate and BMX facility.

Blending with existing tropical coastal terrain, organic forms reflect the flow and movement of skating in a dynamic public space that is the major focus of extreme sports in Singapore. It is also a unique, visually striking example of landscape architecture.

“I AM DELIGHTED THAT WE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO TRANSLATE THIS IDEA INTO A REALITY ON THE GROUND. I HOPE THE YOUNG PEOPLE OF SINGAPORE WILL NOW MAKE THIS SPACE THEIR OWN. THIS IS A TANGIBLE WAY FOR YOUNG PEOPLE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE AND ENHANCE OUR SENSE OF OWNERSHIP.”
– Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the opening
