BUSSELTON SKATE SPACE

WA, AUSTRALIA

The 2200 sq m. Busselton Skate Space takes the traditional skate park design approach of the mass concrete square and has ‘exploded’ it into several skate spaces within one – allowing the space to hold more users during busy periods.

Integrating into the beautiful Busselton foreshore the skate park includes two bowls: one being WA’s deepest bowl at 3m deep. It also has four interconnected street areas ranging in difficulty allowing progression from beginner to advanced rider.

Sewn into the design of the space are elements and features from the iconic and historical Busselton Jetty, which at 1,841 meters long is the longest wooden structure in the southern hemisphere and a major tourist attraction on the Busselton waterfront.
