Community making the most of the new Kwinana Skate Park

While a little bit of wet weather delayed the official opening, it didn’t stop the local community from enjoying the Kwinana Skate Park that we recently completed. Located 38km south of the Perth CBD, the space offers something for everyone. Consultations with the community helped influence the varied features of the space.

The park contains the following distinct areas: beginners skate area, street area, half pipe, jumps track, advanced bowl, basketball half-court and parkour features with shade structures, water fountains and phone charging stations as well as being a striking visual representation of the area and it’s geography and history.

The City of Kwinana Mayor Carol Adams said the council was incredibly proud to offer the facilities to the community and said, “This much-anticipated facility will encourage physical activity and offer a positive social space for young people. The park will be enjoyed by a diversity of users for many years to come including families, teens and serious skaters.”

A second ‘official’ opening is planned for the 18th of November.
